Last year was a great success as 318 volunteers packaged over 60,000 meals on WFD 2011. Many of these meals were delivered to the Africa drought crisis in the Horn of Africa. Meals were also delivered to the ongoing needs in Haiti, and better than 15% of the meals remained here in central Minnesota for use by the the food shelves helping our neighbors in need.
This year we are hoping to package 100,000 meals in one day, starting at 10am and packing until 6pm on October 13th with 380 or more volunteers helping to make it happen.

Kids Against Hunger – Cambridge is a nonprofit organization with the mission to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed starving children throughout the world. Almost completely volunteer run, we are able to deliver specially formulated rice-soy casserole to starving children and their families in more than 40 countries.
According to the World Food Programme, 14,400 children die every day (that’s one child every six seconds) from:
-Malnutrition
-Starvation
-Hunger-related diseases
The solution is a revolutionary food package that has been developed by some of the world’s leading food scientists at Cargill, Pillsbury, General Mills and ADM. This one package provides six nutritionally complete servings to feed starving children around the world as well as the hungry here at home, and all for the low cost of23 cents per serving.
Now, you can be part of the solution for world and local hunger through participating in your local Kids Against Hunger packing satallite, right here in Isanti County. The KAH-Cambridge packing site is located just three miles east of Cambridge and has been operating since 2005.
