Jefferson Awards

On June 14, 2012, Richard Proudfit won the Jefferson Awards. The Jefferson Awards is the nation’s highest honor for community service. It is given to individuals or organizations whose selfless, noble and compassionate work has improved the lives of countless people and amplified our collective commitment to helping one another and contributing to the larger good. Richard is from Minnesota and is the founder of Kids Against Hunger. He was awarded the Jefferson Award for feeding staving children around the world. He is responsible for delivering more than 900 million meals to children in need. The organizations that he inspired are now providing more than 200 million meals to children every year!
